Samaritan's Purse is working to protect, educate, and empower women in the countries where we work. We aim to improve household health and income, increase access to education, and prevent violence and abuse. Our programs equip women with tools and training to earn an income, help them form cooperatives that ensure a fair price for their goods, and start savings groups that create financial stability. We are also teaching pregnant women and young mothers about basic health and nutrition, helping prevent malnourishment and illness. Working through local community organizations, we are helping protect women who are vulnerable to gender-based violence. Through our education and literacy programs, women and girls in developing countries have access to education for the first time.
