In 2023, Cody's Friends, a 501c3 nonprofit, distributed more than 22,000 lbs. of pet food every month to families and human service organizations in Southern Arizona. In 2023 we spent over $125,000 on pet food. That was up from $87,000 in 2022.

In 2023, Cody's Friends, a 501c3 nonprofit, distributed more than 22,000 lbs. of pet food every month to families and human service organizations in Southern Arizona. In 2023 we spent over $125,000 on pet food. That was up from $87,000 in 2022.
People will go hungry before they let their pet suffer. Thousands of families in need depend on Cody’s Friends so they can feed their pet. In addition, 50 human service organizations like veteran’s organizations, First Responders, food banks, soup kitchens, homebound elderly and disabled, women's shelters, crisis centers and homeless youth organization all come to Cody’s Friends for pet food and then act as their satellite outposts distributing pet food throughout Southern Arizona. So regardless of where you are, if you can’t get to our weekly pet food distribution on Flowing Wells, there will be Cody’s Friends pet food available at a food bank near you.
Cody’s Friends relies on 20 volunteers and receives no tax dollars. We depend 100% on donations. In order to meet the growing need in 2024, we would be grateful for your help.
How Cody’s Friends began……
In 2011, Cody Allen a 5th grader, did a report at school on his hero President John F. Kennedy. He read his quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” and he asked his mom what he was doing to help his country? Cody wanted to help people and pets. He made flyers and passed them out in his neighborhood. For the next 4 years, he and his mom picked up donations on people’s front porch then delivered the donations to organizations and people in need. During that time, his sister made him a website and a Facebook page. A law firm heard about everything he was doing and offered to make Cody’s Friends a 501c3 nonprofit.
Thirteen years later, Cody’s Friends has created a program that has taken on the task of being the “Go To” for thousands of families in need with hungry pets in Southern Arizona.
