Since launching in 2015, ASAP has become the nation’s largest military-arts organization. We deliver free, evidence-based community arts programming for veterans, service members, military family members, and caregivers in four chapter communities and nationwide online. Our primary art forms include creative writing, stand-up comedy, storytelling, acting, visual arts, and music. Research demonstrates ASAP participants experience significant, lasting improvements in resilience, belonging, self-esteem, and integration of self.
To date, 6,000 veterans have participated in 900 ASAP classes and workshops — including over 1,400 in 2024 alone. We anticipate serving 1,800 unique veterans in 2025. More than 300,000 audience members have attended our performances, and our alumni have performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, including The Kennedy Center, Warner Theater, Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House. We have been featured by CNN, ABC, NBC, PBS, NPR, The Washington Post, POLITICO, and Forbes.
