PAWSITIVITY SERVICE DOGS FOR VETERANS

Pawsitivity rescues carefully selected dogs and trains them as service dogs through months of professional, force-free training. Training is individualized to the veteran’s needs and may include interrupting panic episodes, waking from nightmares, retrieving essential items, creating space in public, and helping the veteran feel safer leaving home. We provide in-home training, coaching, and long-term follow-up so the team stays stable as life changes. Pawsitivity has undergone an independent, third-party Impact Evaluation that documented meaningful improvements for veterans partnered with our dogs, including stronger daily functioning, increased community engagement, higher self-esteem, greater emotional stability, and reduced PTSD symptom burden. Donations support direct program costs such as training time, veterinary care, food, equipment, and ongoing support for existing teams. We maintain transparency by publishing IRS 990s, CPA reviews, annual reports, and evaluation summaries.
