Each day after their primary American education concludes, our children arrive at our center to be immersed in a diverse environment of other languages, cultures, and varied programming. With a half-acre of teaching gardens wrapping around our classrooms, recording studio, theater and dance studios, our children are taught important community-building values like delayed gratification, sustainable agricultural/hydrology practices, sharing and working together. Social justice, community awareness and service unto others are themes reinforced daily. Our children perform and participate in cultural events all over the Bay Area, including the 7th International Children’s Festival, Day on the Bay, and a variety of events at the Russian Consulate, Jewish Community Center, and many other locales. The children are fantastic ambassadors of their cultural roots and are promoting peace and understanding everywhere they go. This year we earned diplomatic recognition with representatives of UNESCO, the Russian Federation, faculties from Germany and Russia, as well as San Jose State University and DeAnza College. Our children are accomplishing so much in just their first year. We are so proud of them.
Civic pride and community participation should be lifelong. We are deeply honored to be hosting this year’s elections as a key voting center for our area (95126 / Rose Garden area). Our families will witness their first Presidential election while learning all about our government and policy initiatives at the State and Local levels, too. Our families have planted a hundred rose bushes to create a “Veteran’s Rose Garden” and “Mothers’ Rose Garden” facing our busy streets so that we may remember the contributions and sacrifices of the Men and Women (and their Mamas) serving our nations. In fact, with three (3) truckloads of amended soils, twenty-five raised gardens, dozens of trees and hundreds of habitat plants newly placed, we dare say the corner of Park Avenue & Newhall & 880 Freeway is truly transformed, hopefully for all, humans and nature, to enjoy for decades.
Rossinca Heritage School offers programs in languages, literature, art, dance, chess, math, music, choir, science, speech and debate, theater, magic dacha and many more. Our school organizes cultural exchanges between teachers, students and interested parties, organizes cultural events, concerts and performances.
