Nehemiah Project Community Development Corporation (NPCDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities and improving quality of life for low- to moderate-income individuals and families across Metro Atlanta and South Fulton County.
Founded in 2002, NPCDC provides critical home repairs, affordable housing solutions, water and energy conservation services, workforce development, and small business support for seniors, people with disabilities, and households facing housing instability. Our work ensures that families can remain safely and affordably in their homes while building pathways to economic stability and community resilience.
What We Do
Home Repair & Housing Preservation
NPCDC administers publicly funded home repair programs that address urgent health and safety needs. Repairs include roofing, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical upgrades, accessibility modifications, flooring, windows, doors, and fire and carbon monoxide alarms. These services prevent displacement, improve living conditions, and help seniors and low-income homeowners age safely in place.
Water & Energy Conservation
As administrator of the City of Atlanta’s Care & Conserve Plumbing Repair Program, NPCDC completes plumbing repairs and installs water-efficient devices while providing mandatory water conservation education. This reduces high utility bills, protects a finite natural resource, and supports healthier homes.
Affordable Housing Development
NPCDC develops and rehabilitates affordable rental and homeownership opportunities, including small-scale infill and cottage-style housing. Our housing development work emphasizes long-term affordability, neighborhood stabilization, and anti-displacement strategies.
Workforce Development
NPCDC supports workforce development by creating training and employment pathways connected to our housing and home repair programs. This includes skill-building opportunities in construction trades, maintenance, water conservation, and housing services, helping individuals gain marketable skills, increase earning potential, and access stable employment.
Small Business & Economic Development Support
NPCDC assists small and emerging businesses, particularly minority-owned and community-based enterprises, by connecting them to technical assistance, resources, and contracting opportunities. Through our programs and partnerships, we help strengthen local economies and support entrepreneurs who serve their communities.
Education & Financial Stability
We integrate financial literacy, home maintenance education, and community outreach into our programs so households can build long-term stability and resilience.
Our Impact
*Over 1,000 homes repaired for seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income homeowners
*Millions of dollars in public and philanthropic funding responsibly managed with strong compliance and oversight
*Reduced utility costs and improved health and safety for households across multiple counties
*Job skills and income-building opportunities created through housing-related workforce pathways

Why It Matters
Safe housing and economic opportunity are foundational to thriving communities. Many families face housing instability, rising costs, and limited access to quality jobs or business support. NPCDC delivers integrated solutions, housing, workforce, and economic development, that help people remain housed, earn a living, and invest in their neighborhoods.
