Local Love Ministry is a Georgia-based nonprofit serving isolated and vulnerable residents living in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Our mission is to bring compassion, connection, dignity, and the love of Christ to residents through consistent presence, joyful fellowship, and practical support. Many nursing home residents experience profound loneliness, limited personal support, and few visitors. Local Love Ministry exists to ensure they are remembered, valued, and cared for. Through volunteers, churches, schools, community partners, and local businesses, we create opportunities for connection that uplift residents and encourage caregiving staff. Our programs include monthly themed gatherings, Bible study and worship services, free haircuts provided by licensed volunteer stylists, pet therapy visits, musical enrichment, one-on-one compassion visits, Adopt-a-Senior outreach, and recognition of veterans living in nursing homes. We also support facility staff through our Caring for the Caregiver program, which provides encouragement, appreciation events, and acts of kindness. By sharing meals, celebrating milestones, offering companionship, and responding to practical, emotional, and spiritual needs, Local Love Ministry helps nursing home residents feel seen, loved, and supported. We also inspire churches, schools, and community groups to serve with compassion and purpose, while building intergenerational relationships and strengthening a culture of care throughout the community.
