Texas and Houston is a hotspot when it comes to human trafficking. Counselors must understand all the ways to identify potential risk and protective factors. They must learn to assess and address victimization and use effective rapport building and intervention. They also must be well versed in trauma informed care. Shield-Bearer trains our staff and the staff of other agencies to understand complex layers of multiple traumas. We work with multiple agencies and hundreds of survivors. All of our programs are designed to reach all who need services regardless of their financial situation.
