Community Sailing New Orleans strives to positively impact lives by providing accessible educational, recreational, and career development opportunities on Lake Pontchartrain for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities with an emphasis on serving low and moderate income and minority communities in the area by providing access to a community asset that has been historically inaccessible to those large segments of the population.
Community Sailing New Orleans was founded in 2010 with a mission to dismantle barriers and ensure sailing is accessible to everyone in the New Orleans area. We began serving the New Orleans community in 2020. Between 2020-2024, we served over 2,400 people. In April 2025, we opened our new Sailing Center and aim to serve over 2,000 people annually.
