RRUFF Dog Park, Rocklin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located inside Johnson-Springview Park at 5480-5th street. Our vision is “to be recognized as a progressive and innovative off-leash dog park”.
To that end, we are very proud of our Healing Heroes Program. This program funds group classes taught by 4Paws2Freedom to qualifying disabled veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other invisible disabilities. Each one(1) year group classes is $10,000 All training is designed to include everything required to complete the service dog training program – from helping find a dog, to puppy training, to adult training to certification. The group classes are held at several locations in the greater Sacramento Region. Currently classes are on the Rocklin Campus of Sierra College, Pet Food Express in Roseville & Sacramento. Previous classes have been at American River College, Beale Air Force Base, Placerville Veterans Hall, and 4Paws2Freedom in Rancho Cordova.
RRUFF completed construction of the “Special Needs Area” in 2014 for the purpose of providing an outdoor site for service dog training. 4Paws2Freedom uses the area for outdoor veteran service dog training classes in addition to regular indoor classes. It is also available to other service dog training groups in addition to veteran’s groups. Currently Guide Dogs for the Blind uses the site for their Puppy Raiser classes,. All at no cost to them. And local rescue groups use the area for Adoption Days. Local breed meetup groups hold their monthly events here as well .
