Neighborhood Empowerment
San Jose Parks Foundation works directly with neighborhood associations and community groups to address issues related to parks and trails from the basics of maintenance and security to planting, building improvements and innovative programming.
Fundraising Portal
Corporations and foundations are reluctant and sometimes prohibited from giving to government or to small community groups. San Jose Parks Foundation can apply for and receive funding that otherwise might be lost – and direct that funding to the appropriate program.
KIDS@PLAY
Many of the city’s kids programs that once were free now charge or have been cut altogether. San Jose Parks Foundation raises funds from individuals and corporations to keep these programs affordable and to make certain that the young people most in need will have access to healthy activities.
Volunteers
San Jose Parks Foundation supports the city’s Parks and Trails Volunteer Program, helping to recruit, train, equip and manage volunteers through Adopt-A-Park, Adopt-A-Trail, Corporate and Group Volunteer Days or Special Projects and the Dog Waste Bag Network.
Advocacy
It is very important that the community be informed and organized around issues related to their parks and trails. It is also vital to your parks and trails that the community have a strong voice in these matters. San Jose Parks Foundation educates the community and organizes it for effective long-term stewardship of your parks system.
