The survey has documented the consequences of wartime use of herbicides in Laos—in particular, to identify the extent of the contamination of Agent Orange and other toxic herbicides and rates of people suffering from Agent Orange-associated congenital birth defects, disabilities, cancers and other illnesses.
Since 2018, we have identified over 800 people with birth defects in five of the sprayed districts of Lao PDR. We are currently helping them to access medical care and/or vocational training.
