U.S. Olympic gold medal sailor, Magnus Liljedahl, founded Team Paradise in 2005. He is quick to point out the many benefits that sailing has to offer: “Sailing is oftentimes a soothing and relaxing experience, providing solitude and contemplation while improving concentration, core strength and mental wellness. Sailing teaches teamwork and communication, and is a shared accomplishment that builds self-confidence. Time spent with Team Paradise allows you to unplug and reconnects you with nature and with yourself.”
Team Paradise has a program for everyone, whether you want to compete in racing, take sailing lessons, or simply go for a recreational sail. No sailing skills are required to become involved. Team Paradise offers Community Sailing opportunities for veterans with disabilities and others with with physical and intellectual/developmental disabilities, and for the under-resourced youth in our community.
