Food Aid to the Most Vulnerable of Lawrence During Covid 19

, BREAD & ROSES INC

1 in 4 residents of Lawrence live below the poverty line. The Coronavirus pandemic has deeply impacted immigrants, seniors, veterans, and the disabled and homeless - who face increasing food insecurity and social isolation as local agencies struggle to meet skyrocketing need.

Since the start of the pandemic, thousands of pounds of meals and bulk food - as well as clothing, toiletries, pet food, laundry cards and gift cards to grocery stores and restaurants - are delivered five days a week to local agencies, churches and shelters serving those most at-risk of hardship across Lawrence and the Merrimack Valley.

A pantry program dedicated to seniors and veterans ensures home delivery to fight isolation and minimize exposure. The Fresh Start program provides cards to a local laundromat - offering the opportunity to stay clean and dry during the cold months.

Now more than ever, we need to remember that our neighbors experiencing poverty need our support. You can help our most vulnerable neighbors get through the pandemic this winter.

Your donation could mean a chance for someone experiencing homelessness to sit for a cup of coffee out of the elements or dry wet clothes, for a homebound senior to stock their pantry or for a newly unemployed parent to feed their family.

Thank you for joining us in the fight against hunger and hardship in 2021!
