USS MASSACHUSETTS MEMORIAL COMMITTEE INC.

The U.S.S. Massachusetts Memorial Committee, Inc. is dedicated to “the preservation of a historic memorial providing the public with an educational experience to honor patriotism and country.” U.S.S. Massachusetts Memorial Committee By-Laws, Board of Directors, 1964

The goals of this organization are to:
 Sustain a respected veterans memorial and maritime heritage museum for broad public appreciation,
 Preserve and exhibit a collection of historic naval ships and veterans artifacts demonstrating an important aspect of America’s heritage, and
 Serve as the best primary resource for education and inspiration into American virtues and values.

The U.S.S. Massachusetts Memorial Committee, Inc. traces its origins to the wartime crew of the World War II battleship, U.S.S. Massachusetts. This dedicated veterans group was responsible for the donation of the decommissioned vessel from the Navy and its subsequent public display in Fall River, Massachusetts. The U.S.S. Massachusetts Memorial Committee, Inc. was incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization and granted 501 (c) (3) status by the Internal Revenue Service in 1964.
