The Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial is one of the most unique veterans’ memorials in the Nation and stands high atop La Jolla’s Mt. Soledad, offering panoramic views of San Diego County. It is the only Memorial that honors veterans, living and deceased, from the Revolutionary War to the current war on terrorism. Each plaque is customized with an image of the veteran and a brief summary of service. More than 5,737 individual veteran tributes are embedded on black granite plaques and are mounted onto 11 curved walls.
Our organization operates with the help of volunteers, members, donors, and grassroots fundraising efforts. Every penny we receive goes back into the operations of the memorial. This year, we will be expanding to continue to achieve our mission of honoring veterans by preserving their legacy.
