On the last Saturday of every month, we collect food donations and cook a meal to provide to Doreen's Place, a shelter in downtown Portland, Oregon that provides temporary shelter to homeless veterans as they work to get back on their feet. We make our meals on a large enough scale to provide leftovers into the following week, and any additional funds go to accommodating special seasonal needs such as clothing or weather-related items. We also provide packaged snacks for the men to take with them to work.
