A makerspace is a collaborative workspace open to the community - where anyone can come to learn a new skill like soldering or woodworking, use shared equipment like a 3D printer, laser cutter, or sewing machine, and engage in common interests: art, science, engineering, sewing, programming, design, math, and more. Our makerspace is a third place for crafters, makers, artists, and more!
Our makerspace is approximately 2,500 square feet split between two floors, including a machine shop area, craft and sewing room, 3D printing and electronics lab, classroom for 12, and a lounge space with snacks and comfy chairs. It's a great place to work on paper, needle, and fabric crafts, 3D printing, CNC and laser cutting and engraving, electronics, woodworking, programming, or just to spend some time in a third place around other crafty people!
In addition to offering crafting space and equipment for members, we run classes and workshops using our space and tools to introduce folks to new kinds of crafting, help them learn a new skill, or just give them a chance to flex their creativity. We also offer free themed public events, such as HoliMake and Making a Greener Earth, and partner with local organizations such as schools, robotics clubs, homeschool groups, and craft groups to provide space and expertise to support their goals and further our mission of expanding STEAM engagement!
