Hungry Hill is dedicated to the vision of using artmaking to enhance and support the greater community. Beginning with a temporary pottery studio, Hungry Hill hopes to continue to provide fundraising support for programs such as the Butte Food Bank Empty Bowls program, Veterans art therapy and many others. In addition, Hungry Hill plans to partner with other non-profit charitable organizations to develop new art-based fundraising activities for the community and broader region.
Near term
In partnership with the National Affordable Housing Network (NAHN), Hungry Hill’s occupancy in the temporary pottery facility will transition into a permanent space located at 45-55 W. Galena.
Long term
Ultimately, Hungry Hill hopes to partner with NAHN and other community organizations to establish a community art center serving all of Butte and beyond. This center will provide access to art-making space and equipment and will offer courses and other engagement opportunities to both the underserved and to art makers who need a studio space of their own.
By providing a community space centered on art access, we believe we will increase the resilience of our community. Art-making depends on inspiration and innovation. It breeds resourcefulness and so much more. A community full of artists and makers is one better able to support, educate, and grow itself.
Art access stands to benefit individuals of all ages and personal situations.
