Exceptional Families of the Military (EFM) aims to alleviate financial burdens for military families with special needs through the Exceptional Families Matter (EFM) Grant.
This initiative expands on the previous Exceptional.Food.Medical.Parking (EFMP) Grant, by offering financial assistance not only for hospital-related expenses but also by providing adaptive equipment, therapy-related resources, and quality-of-life items that enhance the daily lives of EFMP families.
The EFM Grant provides funding for:
Medical Visit Costs (hospital parking, inpatient food, fuel for travel).
Assistive & Adaptive Equipment (sensory swings, bed tents to prevent eloping and for PCS travel, orthotic-friendly shoes and socks).
Therapy-Related Items (sensory tools, therapeutic accessories).
Home Modifications & Safety (portable ramps, door alarms, accessibility tools).
By expanding grant offerings for equipment and supplies, this program ensures military families can access the necessary resources to improve their family members' quality of life while alleviating financial hardship.
