Romanian United Fund (RUF) launched the Play for Good campaign to bring joy and hope to children who are bravely fighting life-limiting medical conditions. The goal of the campaign was to send 250 children to MagiCAMP, a unique summer camp designed especially for kids diagnosed with severe illnesses such as cancer, severe burns, or other critical conditions.
RUF partnered with Asociația Magic, one of Romania’s most respected non-profit organizations, which provides care, emotional support, and community for over 5,000 children and their families affected by serious medical challenges.
What is MagiCAMP?
MagiCAMP is more than just a camp — it’s a place of healing, laughter, and togetherness. Here, children who spend most of their time in hospitals can finally be kids again — they can run, play, paint, laugh, and make friends who understand what they’re going through. The camp is fully adapted to their medical and emotional needs, offering round-the-clock medical supervision and therapeutic activities in a safe, joyful environment.
Each child spends one week at MagiCAMP, and the cost per child is $462, which covers accommodation, meals, specialized staff, and all camp activities.
About the Play for Good Campaign
The Play for Good campaign invited people everywhere to play and donate — transforming sports, games, and fun activities into a way to raise money for these children. Participants were encouraged to challenge friends, form teams, and get creative in their fundraising efforts — turning playtime into something deeply meaningful.

Impact
By joining the Play for Good campaign, donors and volunteers helped:
Give sick children a chance to enjoy a carefree week full of laughter and play;
Offer emotional and psychological relief to both children and their families;
Support the long-term work of Asociația Magic, which continues to run multiple programs such as MagicHOME (accommodation for parents near hospitals), MagicBOX (monthly care packages), and MagicTICKET (gifts and experiences for children).
