QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Sadie, a spirited four-year-old from
Queen Creek, Arizona, is preparing for her toughest fight yet
after her brain cancer returned and spread earlier this fall.
Diagnosed at age two with posterior fossa ependymoma,
Sadie endured a nine-hour craniotomy and seven weeks of
daily proton radiation, celebrating her third birthday in
treatment. After one year of clear scans, a new tumor
appeared in July 2025. By November, it had grown rapidly and
metastasized, blocking fluid in her brain and causing acute
hydrocephalus. An emergency ER visit led to her second brain
surgery—an endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) and
biopsy—just days before Thanksgiving.
In mid-December, Sadie will begin six weeks of craniospinal
radiation targeting her entire brain and spine.
“Sadie has spent half her young life battling this disease, yet
she still wakes up every morning ready to color, dance, and
give the biggest hugs,” said her parents. “We are heartbroken
to be here again, but we are overwhelmed by the love pouring in from Queen Creek and beyond.”
The Armer Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that assists Arizona families facing childhood cancer, has launched a fundraising campaign and a special “Sadie Strong” T-shirt drive to help cover mounting medical expenses, travel to specialty hospitals, lodging, and other unforeseen costs.
“Sadie’s courage has touched everyone who meets her,” said Jennifer Armer, founder of the Armer Foundation. “Our community showed up for Sadie the first time, and we know Queen Creek will wrap their arms around this family again.”
