Seattle Veterinary Outreach (SVO) envisions a world where under resourced individuals and their pets enjoy equitable access to veterinary care, social services and resources.
Our Values: Community. Collaboration. Access.
To achieve this vision, Seattle Veterinary Outreach is dedicated to providing free and sliding scale veterinary care to pets and connect their owners to vital health, housing and social service resources. Our mobile clinic model allows us greater impact to reach more of our neighbors living in homelessness and low income by partnering with social service agencies to host mobile clinics in the community. Additionally, Mobile Health Outreach (MHO) pairs our veterinary team with a physician, nurse, as well as peer navigator or human services provider to provide additional access to health and social service resources for pet owners. Ultimately, we believe having coordinated and accessible care provides greater opportunities for pets and pet owners to get the best care and resources to ultimately obtain permanent housing and greater stability.
SVO's holistic, coordinated approach is rooted in the power of the human animal bond and human connection. We recognize the many physical, mental, and emotional benefits of owning a pet, and we strive to provide care to our most vulnerable neighbors.
Key aspects of our work:
● Teach guardians how to care for their pet and themselves, improving self-care and building positive life skills.
● Prevent the potential spread of zoonotic diseases between animals and humans, including flea-borne diseases such as Typhus, Rabies, and Leptospirosis.
● Providing accessible, mobile veterinary care that prioritizes individuals and families living low income or in homelessness which are particularly vulnerable populations of our communities.
Seattle Veterinary Outreach was founded in 2019 and is growing rapidly with your support! We are so grateful for contributing to our work and supporting our community.
Your contributions provide basic veterinary exams, prescription medications and other vital medical care to pets and their owners.
Thank you for your generosity!
People. Pets. Love.
