THE KIRSTIE ENNIS FOUNDATION
Glenwood Springs, ColoradoThe Kirstie Ennis Foundation’s mission is to inspire individuals to stubbornly climb the mountain in front of them. We aim to show the world that we control our circumstances, they don’t control us. We aid others by: – Financially supporting deserving nonprofits through a grant application cycle – Providing education, opportunity, and healing in the outdoors – Introducing new and recycled medical device technology to underserved communities of the countries we climb in. – Evenly distributing funding among well-known climbing destinations and lesser known mountains
The Kirstie Ennis Foundation was created by Kirstie Ennis, an adaptive adventure athlete. After Kirstie was medically retired from injuries sustained in Afghanistan to include a left leg above knee amputation, Kirstie committed to living a life of service after service. Throughout her recovery individuals and organizations stepped up to Kirstie back to being who she really is, she now uses her Foundation to pay it forward and give back to underserved communities. With very little overhead, we are able to use donation dollars to directly support our programming and platforms to inspire perseverance and encourage potential.
