The Three Rivers Chapter of Trout Unlimited (3RTU) works with our community partners to conserve, protect and restore our regional watersheds which include the Lake Washington/Lake Sammamish Basin, and Cedar River and Snoqualmie river watersheds. We advocate for the health of our watersheds and our community, as well conduct on the ground restoration work including culvert replacement, removal of invasive plant species and replacing them with native plants, and gathering data to help agency scientists and managers make the best decisions on how to manage our dwindling resources.
Along with our main goal of recovering the nearly extinct Lake Sammamish Kokanee, one of only six remaining populations of Kokanee in the state, we also reach out into the community to support youth conservation and fishing programs like the Washington Conservation Camp, Fly Fishing Academy, and Stream Girls in conjunction with the Girl Scouts. Our chapter also provide veteran support through Project Healing Waters, and supports outreach to women's group like Women on the Fly and Casting for Recovery.
The Three River Chapter is place and people based, working to keep our community strong and healthy, so we can maintain our quality of life.
