SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Yesterday, 32 volunteers packed more than 1,000 family food kits. We also received another 20,000 pounds of rice to distribute to survivors in need.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Yesterday, volunteers continued to bag product for distribution. We sent 500 family food kits to four different locations. The team had the help of 150 volunteers throughout the day to help bag and distribute supplies.
This weekend, we will be adding additional team members to our on-the-ground operations to increase capacity in anticipation of inbound containers.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Our team on-the-ground will continue to distribute emergency supplies to storm survivors throughout the week. We also have three containers en route to Puerto Rico with additional relief supplies that will arrive next week.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The team purchased 40,000 pounds of rice to be delivered to a newly acquired warehouse later today. Additional supplies will be purchased and delivered so bagging operations can begin. The first shipment from Springfield is expected to arrive on Sunday.
We have worked with local partners to identify three cities that will serve as distribution hubs over the next few months: Rio Grande, Mayaguez and Santa Isabel.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The team will begin to purchase food items for volunteers to repackage for distribution, which should begin this weekend. A C130 with additional product is arriving today and we are sending three containers of relief supplies later this week.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Our team arrived in Puerto Rico today and is working with local partners to distribute emergency supplies and serve hurricane survivors in need.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Hurricane Maria powered through Puerto Rico on Wednesday knocking out power to 100% of residents and damaged infrastructures across the island nation. As the strongest hurricane to hit the area in nearly a century, 150 mph winds raged and water flooded the streets. According to Puerto Rico Governor, Ricardo Rossello, restoring power could take months.
Convoy of Hope is responding by sending a team to work with local partners and FEMA to distribute emergency supplies to survivors in need. Follow the response here.
