Every year, thousands of low income Individuals and families ask us for help from around the country who cannot afford our already heavily subsidized participation fees. These fees, while less than 25% of our real cost to provide the service, allow us to sustain the delivery of computers and support of our clients. Unfortunately, we encounter hundreds of applicants every year with worthwhile goals who cannot afford the cost to participate.
While we do not (very often) provide free computers as we believe our clients value the service and make the most of it when they are personally invested - even if in a small way - we could help many more people if we had access to outside funds - gifts and grants - to further discount our participation fees for applicants who need it the most.
