General Donation #SuicidePrevention Veteran Peer Support Outdoor Recreation
来自 FORGOTTEN NOT GONEToo many veterans isolate, shutting themselves off from the outside world until it is
too late. We inspire veterans to get physically and socially active with Veteran Peer
Support Outdoor Recreation.
Forgotten Not Gone provides and maintains a fleet of Velomobile recumbent trikes
(3- and 4-wheel bicycles, some with electric assist) for our local veterans to ride free of
charge, so they can #GETOUTTHEDAMNHOUSE, and learn to live life #STIGMAFREE.
FNG proactively addresses veteran suicide prevention with outreach programs that
promote physical activity, and have profoundly positive effects — both physically and
mentally. Our fleet of Velomobile recumbent trikes helps veterans get their minds off
self-destructive thoughts, and the activity creates healthy endorphins.
Our veterans use exercise not only to keep their weight in check, but also to allow their
biological systems to work properly – including brain function. Bodies and minds are
connected, and in constant communication, so physical activity can have an overall
positive effect on our veterans. https://youtu.be/TsY6Bv4lD4M
Without your Support to #FundTheMission We are not able to pay for required weekly Recumbent Trike Maintenance to Keep Our Veterans riding safely. We need weekly gas money to drive Our 24″#FNG Box truck and 12″ Flat Bed Truck to the Bike trails where we get our Veterans to Escape the isolation overcoming their disabilities. Your generosity, funds our Mission Critical support weekly Maintenance and is helping us continue “Stomping Out Veteran Suicide!”
Currently we need a warehouse location to house our fleet of trikes and launch our daily rides. We are also in need of creating our own bicycle shop to be able to increase our capacity to serve. We must invest in infrastructure, become self sufficient repairing our own trikes and maintaining the fleet.
