Honor Flight Central Coast California (HFCCC) is a non-profit made up of all volunteers whose mission is to take all veterans to Washington D.C. on their “Tour of Honor” as our guest.
Here is a 5 minute video from one of our past flights: https://vimeo.com/122489376
What we do:
We take our heroes to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials that honor their military service. We call this trip a Tour of Honor. Every veteran goes on their Tour of Honor as our guest.
The Tour of Honor is a 3 day trip. The veterans’ tour may vary but usually includes Arlington Cemetery Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, numerous military memorials, Annapolis Naval Academy, and Fort McHenry.
Who we serve:
We serve all veterans; currently WWII and Korea War veterans get priority. Our primary service areas are San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.
What your donation will be used for:
The money will be used to pay for veterans to go on their Tour of Honor. All money donated goes toward the veterans’ expenses. The cost for each veteran is $1300. The tour includes travel (air and bus), hotel, food (including a banquet), duffel bag, shirts, tours of memorials, Arlington Cemetery, Annapolis and Fort McHenry. Each trip requires HFCCC to raise approximately $33,000. The number of trips that we take each year and therefore the number of veterans that we can serve is limited by our donations. With both WWII and Korea war veterans, time is not on our side.
