Footwork International is a global health charity dedicated to the elimination of podoconiosis, a preventable and treatable form of lymphedema that disproportionately affects poor, rural communities. Footwork works at the intersection of treatment, prevention, research, and policy, supporting country‑led efforts to integrate podoconiosis into national health systems and Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) frameworks.
The organisation promotes evidence‑based care, including foot hygiene, wound management, footwear use, and long‑term self‑care, while also addressing the social and economic consequences of the disease. Footwork collaborates closely with governments, academic institutions, NGOs, and affected communities, and plays a leading role in global advocacy and knowledge exchange. Through its work, Footwork International aims not only to reduce disability and stigma, but to help ensure that podoconiosis is no longer a disease of neglect.
