Each year, 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colon cancer and it is estimated that nearly 10% of those diagnosed are under the age of 40. We serve this overlooked demographic that often has young families to care for, little to no savings, and limited or no health insurance. We provide assistance with daily living expenses such as past-due rent, utility bills and car repairs, so patients can focus on their health. Additionally, we seek out educational opportunities to help raise awareness about colon cancer and the power of early detection. We have grown from giving one miracle in 2009 to becoming the leading organization offering financial assistance to young colon cancer patients across the United States with non-medical expenses. We hope for a day when there is a cure for cancer. In the meantime, Meredith’s Miracles provides help to those with the disease today. Meredith’s Miracles is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, gender, or national origin. We do not support activities for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine, nor do we support fraternal, labor, political or veterans’ organizations.
