*Assistance to homeless veterans in gaining employment
*Security deposit and first month's rent for homeless veterans, or assistance with rental arrears if given eviction notice; various housing options
*Drop-in resource center that includes food pantry and monthly food truck, individual and group support to veterans, military, and their family members, case management to address needs, and veteran peer-to-peer support for recovery efforts
*A supportive housing program for veterans needing longer-term follow up and support
*Furniture and food delivery by veterans to veterans who have recently been moved from homelessness to housing
*Outdoors program, fishing trips by veterans with veterans
*Support and education for caregivers of disabled veterans
The agency serves veterans and military families through the counties of McHenry, Lake, portions of Cook, Kenosha, Will, and Boone. Calls are accepted from neighboring counties and help is provided or referrals are made to assist.
When a veteran needs a hand up, the veteran and veteran-friendly staff at VPH are there to provide assistance or connect to those who can. Our services truly transform lives.
