Digital First Steps provides foundational digital literacy support to people facing barriers to participation in an increasingly digital society.
Many refugees, low-income individuals, and people living in rural communities struggle with basic digital tasks such as communication, accessing services, and applying for work. Without this foundation, digital systems can become a barrier rather than a support.
Through Digital First Steps, participants build confidence using everyday digital tools through guided, practical learning focused on real-world use. The programme is delivered fully online and supported by volunteers.
Donations to this project support programme coordination, safeguarding, learning materials, and volunteer support, ensuring participation remains free for learners.
Digital First Steps is operated by The Educational Equality Institute as part of its education and inclusion support for underserved communities.
