The Union County Hospital Association (UCHA) was incorporated in 1945 with the purpose of providing improved healthcare for the people of Union County. With many veterans returning from World War II, the people of Union County came together to provide for the care of those who had been wounded and to memorialize those who had made the ultimate sacrifice for their neighbors and community. With community generosity and a matching federal grant, Memorial Hospital of Union County opened in 1952.
In the fall of 2014, the Union County Hospital Association changed its operating name to the Memorial Health Foundation to provide expanded philanthropic giving opportunities in support of the charitable mission of Memorial Hospital, Memorial Gables, and related operations -- now part of Memorial Health. The Memorial Health Foundation supports our next generation of growth and expanded community services.
