HELPING HANDS REENTRY OUTREACH CENTERS

Helping Hands Reentry Outreach Centers provides data-driven, trauma-informed homeless services at 12 facilities across five counties in Oregon: Multnomah, Clatsop, Tillamook, Yamhill, and Lincoln counties. We provide up to 350 beds per night to a population who is historically underserved in these areas. Our largest facility, Bybee Lakes Hope Center, opened in October 2020 in Portland, Oregon. We are opening the facility in phases, with a capacity of up to 500 beds available once all dorms are open.

The mission of Helping Hands Reentry Outreach Centers is to provide a helping hand to sustainable life through resources, recovery, and reentry. We guide people through a very challenging period of their life by teaching them basic life skills and helping them to access community resources. Our goal is to help people get back on their feet - and stay there.

The face of homelessness is changing: in the last two years, the percentage of our population which represents children and seniors has tripled. This is in part due to the affordable housing crisis in Oregon, and the very low rental availability in most of the counties we serve. As more people move to Oregon, without the housing infrastructure in place to sustain our current population, the problem is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Many people in our shelter, and nearly all in our Reentry Program are gainfully employed. They're clean and sober, working to overcome addiction, mental health challenges, domestic violence histories, and more. They want to work to make their lives better, and we do everything we can to provide the support and accountability to ensure their successful reentry into society.
