Our Vincentian Conference Mission and Purpose: In the spirit of Love & Justice, St Joseph Conference - Marinette of the Society of St Vincent de Paul provides person-to-person services of time, talent, and resources to help our neighbors in need without discrimination. We help our Vincentian members grow spiritually by seeing the face of Christ in those we serve. We accomplish this both as an individual organization and through collaboration with others in the communities of Marinette, Peshtigo, and Porterfield. Our St Joseph Conference provides financial support for shelter, utilities, medications, auto repairs, gas and other basic needs leading to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of those in need, thus improving the quality of their lives. We continuously aspire to live out the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope and joy, and by working to shape a more just and compassionate society. Our vision is to enhance growth in Those We Serve by helping them to overcoming obstacles to gain sustainability and self-sufficiency.
We have four events a year - stats are from last year's events:
March - Freezin' 4 Reasons (F4R) - raises funds to keep families in their home environment - shelter and/or WPS (heat and elec)
April - Founder's day fundraising letter to all parishioners in our three supporting parishes.
August - Back 2 School (B2S) - raises $8000-$10,000 in funds to provide over 323 + children from families in need with filled backpacks and a $25 gift card only for school clothes, ... 阅读更多
