Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for veterans, first responders, at-risk youth, and other high-risk groups to heal, grow, and rebuild their sense of community through the unique bond between humans and dogs.
Our Programs
Veterans & First Responders Program:
This program serves veterans and first responders struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related challenges. Participants engage in weekly dog training and handling classes, either using their own dogs (subject to safety requirements) or working with a "loaned" dog provided by the program. These sessions help individuals build self-reliance, trust, confidence, and hope while fostering meaningful connections with others.
Youth Dog Program:
Targeting youth aged 10-21 who have experienced trauma or are dealing with mental health issues, this program pairs young participants with trained dogs and professional handlers to teach basic dog handling and obedience skills. These one-hour weekly sessions leverage the therapeutic power of human-animal interaction to boost self-esteem, build trust, and foster a renewed sense of community and belonging.
Impact
Circle of Change programs are designed to address the isolation and hopelessness that often accompany trauma. Participants experience measurable improvements in mental health, including reduced anxiety and depression, enhanced social connections, and an increased sense of purpose.
