LUI provides mentoring at a critical time in the life of the youth of south Florida. The purpose of the organization is to catch the attention of the youth with mentoring and to direct and position them for leadership opportunities in their future endeavors. Community volunteers, administrators and other professionals hold classes, seminars and lessons at educational institutions to inspire at-risk youth within our diverse community to the be the leaders they were meant to be.

LUI provides mentoring at a critical time in the life of the youth of south Florida. The purpose of the organization is to catch the attention of the youth with mentoring and to direct and position them for leadership opportunities in their future endeavors. Community volunteers, administrators and other professionals hold classes, seminars and lessons at educational institutions to inspire at-risk youth within our diverse community to the be the leaders they were meant to be.
LUI uses educational lessons, motivational messages, community service projects and individual mentoring to change each life. The mentoring program includes teaching respect, positive actions and high ethical standards. LUI nurtures relationships to model self esteem, a life of purpose, direction and leadership.
The programs and activities of LUI are primarily student-led and our student leaders come from many different faith backgrounds, nationalities and socioeconomic backgrounds. Student leaders from different high schools, universities, athletics, clubs, student veteran organizations and nationalities participate in leadership events.
