Quickest Flip is a magazine and online showcase that promotes inclusion in the arts through an ongoing curation of artwork by artists both with and without disabilities throughout the United States.
There are hundreds of art programs throughout the United States supporting the creativity of artists with developmental disabilities. Quickest Flip features art created at these programs alongside artwork by individual artists - highlighting the overlooked intersection between these programs and the contemporary art world.
I started this project in 2012 when I was in grad school and was fiscally sponsored through Fractured Atlas back then. I ran the project for a few years but then became too busy with work. I'm excited to have more free time now to be able to put my all into resurrecting Quickest Flip and making it bigger and better than ever. Quickest Flip started up again at the beginning of February 2022 and we've already partnered with 12 different art programs that work with artists with disabilities across the country.
Artwork by artists both with and without disabilities is featured on the Quickest Flip website homepage gallery, which refreshes with new artwork every two months. Quickest Flip's social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) post daily the work of artists both with and without disabilities. And we plan to start publishing Quickest Flip Magazine again with the first new issue set for September 2022. Quickest Flip Magazine features visual artwork and writing submissions as well as interviews that highlight inclusive art practices and cool people doing cool stuff.
We look forward to publishing the magazine regularly (3-4 times a year) and building up our distribution channels and partnerships. Our goal is to partner with as many art programs for artists with disabilities as possible (there are over 100 in the US) highlighting the work these programs do and the awesome artwork their artists are creating, while always advocating for inclusion in the arts.
