TRR incorporated in 2005 and received 501(c) 3 public charity status in 2006. It's award-winning program, TRR's Warrior Camp® which went operational in 2013, is designed to heal trauma, prevent suicide, support force preservation and enhance resilience among Military Veterans. It is an intensive clinical treatment program that focuses on PTSD and Moral Injury. To date, 13 Warrior Camp® programs have been conducted and TRR has a 99.4% survival rate post program and a 99% program completion rate. TRR has collected clinical data from all programs using standardized assessment measures that was published in the Journal of Military Medicine in April 2018. Data shows a "statistically significant and substantive" treatment effect for PTSD, depression, adult attachment, dissociation and, more importantly - Moral Injury. This was accomplished by utilizing 9 different volunteer clinical teams at each iteration. TRR defines Moral Injury as, "an existential or spiritual crisis that is the consequence of having been trained to override the intrinsic aversion to the taking of human life. It can also be the result of having perpetrated acts during combat operations, necessary at the time for survival, that damage one's conscience or moral compass. It is an ethical response. Our view is in line with the Department of Defense view in that Moral Injury is not a part of PTSD and is not a disorder. But repairing it is critical to Military Veterans' survival.
