Strongwater Farm's Autism Rides program is a therapeutic equestrian program for children and youth on the autism spectrum. Approximately 60 weekly riders are on the autism spectrum comprising 60% of our participants. Autism Rides provides an opportunity to 1) develop new skills, knowledge and problem-solving abilities, 2) build relationships, 3) increase attention, communication, responsiveness and willingness to follow instruction, 4) engage with a sensory stimulating environment, 5) enhance motor skills and coordination, and 6) improve self-esteem.
