NISEI VETERANS MEMORIAL CENTER

The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center is a non-profit organization that aspires to a world where people act selflessly for the greater good. NVMC owns and manages an intergenerational campus on Go For Broke Place in Kahului that serves as a home for Kansha Preschool, Maui Adult Day Care Center’s Oceanview facility, the Stanley Izumigawa Resource Center, and the Leonard Y. Oka Education Center.

Through educational programs, cultural preservation, and community engagement, NVMC honors the legacy and values of the Japanese American veterans who served during World War II while inspiring future generations through their stories of courage, perseverance, service, and sacrifice. The Center welcomes thousands of students, residents, and visitors each year through museum exhibits, school programs, historical archives, veteran recognition events, and opportunities for lifelong learning. By connecting history with contemporary civic values, NVMC fosters understanding, gratitude, and a commitment to serving others.
