The CVC Legacy Project preserves photojournalist/artist Charlie Cole’s legacy to share the stories of his life’s work through exhibitions, and publications of images. In addition, and just as importantly it also creates the opportunity to share the collection management and legacy structure with other artists, photographers and estates so they too can tend to their collections. It serves the artist community through digital preservation and conservation and is designed to provide support to visual artists in the areas of studio organization, archiving, inventory management to create a comprehensive and usable documentation of their artworks and careers. By building a legacy from these projects, comes the opportunity to educate local communities about these cultures, preserve an artist's story and history through exhibitions and lectures, as well as provide a template for other artists to follow through workshops, activities and events.
