CAHRA has several funding sources available to provide a complete array of services to make the homes of its low-income clients safe and secure. The Agency’s weatherization program diagnoses and repairs each home to reduce energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes. CAHRA also has funds to repair and replacement utility related systems and appliances, example water heaters. The program also assists disabled and elderly clients with accessibility issues and minor home repair. CAHRA also provides emergency food boxes, special senior food boxes and gleaned produce distributions.
The agency serves all target groups including women. homeless persons, low-income people, veterans and children. They must be low-income and reside in Pinal County. Some programs require more specific qualifications.
Individuals applying for the agency's services must be low-income (for utilities 150 % of Federal Poverty Guidelines, for rent HUD median family income guidelines and for other utility assistance funds, 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines). Individuals must present proof of crisis as to the reason they are not able to make the payment for assistance requested. Housing repair and weatherization also must own their home and have their property taxes paid and their mortgage caught up to date, if still paying on their loans.
