one thing, it’s this: our childhood imprints itself on the adults we become.
Growing up, I felt the absence of a father’s guidance. That lack of mentorship is a quiet space that shapes you. It’s also why I am so fiercely passionate about showing up for youth in my community. I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of a positive figure—not just what it prevents, but more importantly, what it creates: confidence, direction, and belief.
That belief is the engine behind everything we do at Stay Recruited. And right now, it’s fueling our most ambitious initiative yet: “She’s Legend,” a leadership and STEM retreat this summer for 30 young women in Galveston County.
This is more than a 3-day event. It’s an experience designed to ignite potential, provide mentorship, and open doors these young ladies might not yet see. We are committed that not one of them will have to pay to attend. Their only job is to show up, ready to step into their own legend.
Here’s where I need my network. I’ll be direct: asking for help has never been my strength. But this is too important.
We need to raise funds to make this retreat fully accessible. I understand there is a lot going on—a time of many pulls. But I can’t think of a more lasting impact than investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and legends. June 9-11 we will host 30 young ladies at the Jordan Ranch Retreat center in Schulenburg, Texas.
Camp Details:
- Duration: 3 days of training, competition, and breakout sessions with local leaders.
- Activities: Flag football training, mentorship sessions, swimming, bonding activities, flag football tournament with awards.
-Guest Speakers: Jen Welter, Pioneer and advocate of girls flag football.
-Females athletes from National Team.
-College Coach (Offering scholarships)
Objectives:
1. Expose girls to flag football: Provide training and competition to develop skills and passion for the sport.
2. Expose girls to mentors: Connect participants with local leaders and role models who can inspire their personal and professional growth.
3. Expose girls to career opportunities: Introduce participants to various career paths and college exposure through workshops and networking.
Projected Outcomes
- Increase in participation of girls in flag football.
- Long-term mentorship connections established.
- Enhanced exposure to career and college opportunities for attendees.
