The way we are approaching accessibility is by developing distributed infrastructure and 3D interfaces that are open and extensible. PLAN Systems is a Technology 501(c)(3) that operates to empower the least supported and vulnerable populations among us, including those with accessibility needs, low income populations, and underprivileged communities.
We do this by making free and open source tools, data visualization tools, and interfaces that lower the barriers to entry for people to communicate and collaborate. The specific features and functions which show up are in part driven by sponsors and partners that we work with, contributing developers, and our Board of Directors.
A significant piece of the puzzle is the underlying data infrastructure that supports these interactions. With PLAN, accessibility communities will be able to directly communicate, share media & files, map their environment, and access digital tools & instruments within their own secure networks.
