FRIENDS OF DISABLED VETERANS
KENNEWICK, Washington"Offer a place where disabled veterans and their families can have a place to go where people appreciate and respect what they've been through. The goal is to help them feel completely accepted and included in a fun, relaxing environment." Brian Moore, Founder We are an all-volunteer organization and none of our board members are paid. We are veterans, friends and family members, brought together to continue our service to one another. To build and re-build relationships, confidence, and skills through working together, learning, and volunteering. We are building an accessible Ranch in Prosser Washington that will provide training, volunteer opportunities, recreation, and bond building through primarily outdoor activities. Our focus is not just on the veteran, but whomever makes the veteran feel safe and complete. Friends, family, children, are all welcome here. Our mission is to serve veterans. If there is an organization that provides free services to veterans and our facility will accommodate their needs, it is our goal to assist in delivering those services. We should all be able to work together, in the best interest of those we formed to serve. Veterans.
Frustrated with non-profits that spend more money on overhead than their mission, Friends of Disabled Veterans was formed in 2016. Our compensation for running this organization is emotional satisfaction, gratitude, friendship and empowerment that comes from service to and for others. Our board members will never get monetary compensation!
We are creating a 140 acre Ranch that will provide learning opportunities for veterans and their families through fun outdoor activities. With plenty of volunteer activities to feed the spirit of service, demonstrate appreciation for one another, and build lasting, health relationships through those endeavors.
The main 20 acre parcel will host the lodge and most of the activities used to teach and build bonds.
