Teddy Roosevelt Museum and Library

/ 1ST US VOLUNTEER CAVALRY REGIMENT

The 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, Rough Riders Inc was founded in 1978 for the purpose of creating and perpetuating a living memorial to the unique accomplishments of President Theodore Roosevelt and the members of the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment known as the “Rough Riders.” We are a 501c3 charity located on 19th Street in Tampa. In our Headquarters Building we house the Teddy Roosevelt Museum and Library.
We are currently raising funds to expand our collection of period artifacts, visual pieces (photographs and maps) and to develop a display showcase like those seen in larger historical museums. Our fundraising goal for this project is $10,000.
To further accomplish our mission, the Rough Riders are building a Historical Showcase inside our Museum (Bartley Hall within our Headquarters building). The Historical Showcase will be approximately 13’ x 4’ and will house four displays or “Vignettes” that will rotate on a quarterly basis. The four initial displays will feature: The Lead-up to the Spanish American War; Raising and Training the Regiment; Deploying to War/Battles in Cuba; and The Unique Accomplishments of Teddy Roosevelt.
The Rough Riders Museum is open to the public without fee. We are open by appointment-only so we can schedule members of our volunteer staff to provide tours. The usual hours we can accommodate are Monday-Friday, 9AM-3PM. The tour takes 60-90 minutes depending on questions and discussions.
Sponsorships Available:
Museum Display Case Sponsorship: The Museum Display Case Sponsorship of $2000 will allow the Rough Riders to build the showcase. The sponsor’s business logo (2’ x 2”) will be displayed in the bottom left side of the Showcase for a period of one year. The sponsor will also be identified on our web site for the same period.
Vignette Sponsorships. Four sponsorships of $1500 will be available for the four time periods mentioned above: The Lead-up to the Spanish American War; Raising and Training the Regiment; Deploying to War/Battles in Cuba; and The Unique Accomplishments of President Teddy Roosevelt. The sponsorships provide funding for artifact acquisitions, visual pieces (photographs and maps), and for other supplies to create the Vignettes. The sponsor’s business logo (2’ x 2”) will be displayed in the bottom right side of the Showcase for the period of the sponsored Vignette. The sponsor will also be identified on our web site for the year.

The Rough Riders are a federal 501c3 organization. The sponsor will receive a letter citing the value of its charitable donation for use in tax preparation.
Our charity is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment Rough Riders, Inc. (Also soliciting as Rough Riders, Inc). Registration Number: CH29909
