Advocacy Through Research for the Needs of Others is a free support program of Personal Care Calling Services, Inc., doing business as Daily Peace of Mind Communications. We serve seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities who are isolated, overwhelmed, or struggling to access the help they need. Many of the people who reach us have been referred by Medicare navigators, health plans, hospitals, elder law professionals, social workers, or community resource databases, often while searching for in-home care or other urgent support. Instead of turning them away when their needs fall outside our direct services, we step in and help them navigate what comes next.

This program exists for people who do not know where to start, do not have family nearby, do not understand eligibility rules, or are simply too exhausted to keep making calls on their own. We gather basic personal and household details needed to research appropriate local, regional, and national resources. Then we spend the time that many systems no longer have. We review need-based programs, search for service matches, drill down by location and eligibility, contact agencies when necessary, and identify realistic pathways for support.

Our work often includes researching food assistance, utility relief, transportation options, housing-related support, recovery assistance after surgery or illness, disability-related resources, veteran-connected programs, and other essential services. We do not bill the individual for this help. We do the legwork first, then return with phone numbers, agency names, notes on eligibility, and practical guidance so the person is not left facing a confusing system alone.

In many cases, this process takes hours for a single person. We call ahead, verify details when possible, and narrow the list to the most promising options. Once we have useful leads, we contact the individual again and walk them through the next steps with patience and dignity. For people who feel unseen, frightened, or worn down by repeated dead ends, that kind of support can mean the difference between giving up and getting help.

This program is part of a broader mission at Personal Care Calling Services / Daily Peace of Mind Communications. Alongside advocacy through research, we also provide daily reassurance communications, medication reminders, wellness check-ins, and support-centered outreach designed to reduce isolation and bring peace of mind. We are also building the DPOM Communications Platform to strengthen and scale compassionate communication services for vulnerable populations.

Every contribution helps support the time, care, communication, and infrastructure required to research resources, answer difficult questions, follow up with compassion, and stay available to people who too often fall through the cracks. Your support helps us keep saying “yes, we will try to help” when someone calls in fear, confusion, or need.
