Food4Warriors Program 2024 - Military & Veteran Hunger Relief Program (Monthly - Ongoing)
/ US FOR WARRIORS FOUNDATIONThe Food4Warriors Program bundles several projects to serve the military & veteran community and their families. Our efforts help economically disadvantaged, homeless, elderly, disabled and their children within that community. Us4Warriors was recognized as an essential provider of food through monthly remote distributions throughout the San Diego County during the pandemic and the years that have followed.
-Food Distributions: We host two distributions each month (24 a year) at various locations in the County supporting thousands.
-Pantry: Our "Safe Pantry Pick-up" program is open during the week with pre-packed groceries and support items for the same population during temporary moments of distress.
-VA Partnership: We travel for monthly deliveries to 9 local U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs Clinics and numerous departments of a VA Regional Medical Center with pre-packaged groceries for clients determined to have medical conditions that are complicated by food insecurity.
-Homeless: We provide Care4Warriors boxes that are specially manufactured with small amounts of food, basic needs items, hygiene related items and curated informational resources that are provided via several events and projects each year.
On the Frontlines: Our headquarters operates from a California Designated Geographical Area as a High Poverty and High Unemployment area supporting over 10,000 each year. The California County that we support in San Diego is the highest concentration of military and veterans in the country. Unfortunately, it has been recognized as one of the fastest growing cost-of-living-areas in the country as well, with recent reports even listing it as one of the highest growing costs on the globe. Junior military are stationed in the area with no choice as to the location they are assigned to serve and no supplemental income to combat the high cost of living. This causes challenges for military families, recognized by public officials as a direct concern. We are a lifeline for many. Veteran families struggling in the area continue to grow as economic circumstances compounded by the high cost of living creates challenges to sustaining their households and, for some, overcoming homelessness.
Us4Warriors' Food4Warriors Program has been a source of hunger relief in this area for many years. It was essential during the pandemic and continues to be a valuable resource to overcome hardship today. Together, we can help warriors and their families live stronger lives.
